Description
Rhizobium bacterium fixes atmospheric nitrogen in dicotyledonous plants. It is useful only by seed treatment.
- Improvement in soil texture.
- Increase seed germination rate.
- Increase root & shoot length and disease resistance.
- Soil application : 1 lit rhizobium spray in 50 kg grass Or FYM and spread to 1 acre field.
- Seed treatment : 25 ml rhizobium gently rub per kg seed required for 1 acre land. Dry these seeds by spreading them in the shed. Sow immediately after drying.
- Do not mix with chemical fertilizer.
- Keep in a cool and dry place.
- Store in a shed and protect from heat and sunlight.
- Biofertilizer is mostly active in presence of organic matter.
- Rhizobium does not spray directly in soil because rhizobium needs food and soil do not provide food to rhizobium so rhizobium spray in grass or FYM then apply soil.
- Gram-negative soil bacteria that fix nitrogen from the atmosphere and make available to plants.
- Rhizobium converts atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia and then provide organic nitrogenous compounds to the plants.
- Rhizobium takes nitrogen from the air (which plant cannot take) and converts it into a form of nitrogen called ammonium which plants can use for their growth.
