Nutrients Deficiency
Deficiency Symptoms

1. Leaves are markedly small in size, stiff in texture.

2. Fruits are small in size, pale in colour, maturing early.

3. Flowering and fruiting, yield decrease considerably.

1. Leaves are smaller in size and turn dirty greyish green, with patches and shed prematurely, resulting bare stem in lower parts of the plant.

2. The fruits are small, pale in colour and mature early.

1. Stunted growth of plants.

2. Brown patches appear on the leaves and necrotic lesions develop along the veins followed by defoliation.

1. The symptom appears first on young leaves as chlorotic patches.

2. Margins of young leaves become yellow.

3. Stems are thick and woody.

4. Pale brown sunken areas develop on the fruits.

Nutrients Sulphur (S) Magnesium (Mg) Iron (Fe) Manganese (Mn)
Nutrients Deficiency
Deficiency Symptoms

1. Leaves turn pale yellow in colour.

2. Plant growth is retarded.

3. New leaves become narrow, more pointed and chlorotic.

1. Leaves ultimately turned to yellow.

2. At later stages, lower leaves develop characteristic interveinal chlorosis from margin inwards in a typical inverted ‘V’ shaped.

1. Initially, iron deficiency results in interveinal chlorosis near the base of older leaves.

2. If deficiency continues entire leaf including veins exhibits chlorotic symptoms.

3. The entire plant may exhibit bleached appearance, finally dry and die.

1. Reduction in leaf size and development of interveinal orange yellow mottling over a tip of the leaf, Spread to the whole leaf.

2. The mottled area turns yellow, while the vein remains green.

3. Mottling is followed by numerous small, dark brown necrotic spots on the leaf.
